Birmingham took another step towards regaining the Midland League Men's Division title, outclassing Stafford in an emphatic 10-0 victory. Ian Ferguson, Sasha Grokhotov and Edward Lynn, were all in ruthless form, in a match that lasted less than two hours.

 
Birmingham Closed champion Steve Bertie remained in fine form, with a maximum for Birmingham 'A', in the First Division of the Midland League Veterans section, against Nottingham 'B'.  Michael Browne and Steve Robinson offered solid support to Bertie, in a 7-3 success at the Colebridge club.

 
Ferguson and Grokhotov, along with Andy Hare, helped Curdworth stay on the coat tails of Kingshurst Bribar 'A' in the Premier Division.  Curdworth recorded 9-1 successes against both Streetly 'A' and Beaufort Sports 'A'.  Colebridge Aces dented Kingshurst Bribar 'B' hopes of finishing third in the section, winning 7-3, with Lynn gaining a maximum.


Sandwell Unison had a 6-4 win over Colebridge Eagles in Division One, thanks to a four-game victory for the evergreen George Hutton over Mark Hadley.

 

Simon Bailey and the in-form Steve Smith kept Smithereens on top of the pile in Division Two with maximums in the 9-1 mauling of doomed Colebridge Hawks.

Beaufort Sports 'B' retained their promotion hopes with a 6-4 triumph at Streetly 'B'.
Carl Mountjoy, Tony Stewart and Alan Thompson picked up the last three sets in a fine team effort.  Howard Knight was in sparkling form for Sutton Coldfield 'D' against club-mates Sutton 'C' but his team still succumbed 6-4.

 

Ash Kapadia, was again in magnificent form for Beaufort Sports 'C', in their 5-5 draw with Baverstock 'A' in Division Three.  Colin Would and Zac Dixon were both unbeaten for West Midland Phones, in their 8-2 romp over Ivy Leaf 'A', with Dixon and Colin Platt also recording trebles in the 7-3 success at Kingshurst Bribar 'E'.

Darren Williams notched another hat-trick for Bournville 'B', in their 5-5 draw at Walmley 'A'.  Peter Haslam ensured a share of the spoils for the visitors, with an 11-3 in the fifth success over Roy Packwood.  Hall Green 'E' snatched a 6-4 victory at Walmley 'B', thanks to a Mike Evetts treble.

 

Jacombs 'B' and Sutton 'G' finished level at 5-5 in Division Four, while the youngsters of Streetly 'C' hammered Lodge Road 9-1, Jordan Colen and Shane Gales helped themselves to maximums.

 

Jim Ferguson of Baverstock 'C', was the only unbeaten player, as his side drew 5-5 with Colebridge Indians in Division Five.  Baverstock 'B' just edged Team SCC 6-4, as a Lee Holtham maximum saw them through.
