Jon Ludlow blasted the players from Hall Green B off the table, to help Beaufort Sports A to a crucial 7-3 victory, in their bid to retain Premier Division status. The attacking ace had fine support from the talented Andy Jackson, who just lost out to Lindon Douglas 12-10 in the fifth, in his bid for a maximum. Hall Green also suffered a 10-0 mauling at Curdworth. Colebridge Aces had an easy 9-1 success at Kingshurst Bribar C, with Edward Lynn and Muhammad Khalid proving a class above their opponents.
Colebridge Eagles and Kingshurst Bribar D had an entertaining 5-5 draw, with
Eagles clawing their way back, as John Cox and Mahroof Hussain both recorded
12-10 in the fifth wins, over Roger Morris and Paul Hancox respectively. Kings
also drew against Quinborne. Nabil Khalfey produced another unbeaten
performance for Sutton Coldfield B, in their 6-4 triumph over Bournville A.
Birmingham veteran Martin Round had a crucial 12-10 in the fifth success over
Bournvilles Les Minott, to start proceedings.
Steve Pinder plundered a maximum for Hall Green C, as they clinched promotion
from Division Two, with a 7-3 home victory over their D side. Rob Sheldon
blasted his way to a treble for Beaufort Sports 'B', in their 5-5 draw at Sutton
Coldfield 'E'. In an exciting match, Carl Mountjoy had a crucial 15-13 success
over Sutton's Pete Worship in the first set of the night while Mike Cooper and
Worship ended the match with last gasp wins over Mountjoy and Alan Thompson
respectively.
Baverstock 'A' embarrassed Hall Green 'E' to the tune of a 10-0 thumping in Division Three. Chris Hall and Alan White gained the bragging rights for Walmley 'A' against their 'B' team, in an 8-2 victory, with both players unbeaten.
The Streetly 'C' youngsters go marching on and recorded an 8-2 result at Walmley 'C' in Division Four, with Shane Gales unbeaten. . Streetly 'D' and Lodge Road drew 5-5, with only Tony Badham of Streetly unbeaten.
Colebridge Jaguars had another 10-0 victory, at Ivy Leaf 'B' in Division Five. Kingshurst Bribar 'G' won 9-1 at Team SCC, as Perry Nash, Tom Moy and Reece Underhill all gained maximums. West Midlands Police 'B' and Baverstock 'C' also drew, with Jim Ferguson the only maximum man in this fixture. Lee Holtham gained a treble, as Baverstock 'B' beat their C side 7-3.
Premier Division champions Kingshurst Bribar, will meet a team chosen by Birmingham President Brian Lloyd, in the Maurice Goldstein Cup final, to be staged at the Ivy Leaf club, Sheldon, on Tuesday April 29.
Streetly B face the Kingshurst Bribar G youngsters in the T.S.Callaghan
Cup final at Baverstock, on Monday April 21, with Baverstock B and
Streetly C meeting in the Steve Smith Cup final, on Thursday April 24,
at the Colebridge club.
