Kingshurst Bribar are showing ruthless form, in their bid to retain the Premier Division title. Hall Green A and B have both been demolished 10-0 as Michael Browne and co warm up for the forthcoming 'Battle of Brum', against arch rivals Curdworth. Curdworth hammered Colebridge Aces 8-2, with Ian Ferguson unbeaten, although Midland League stalwart Edward Lynn had impressive wins for the visitors against Andrew Hare and Sasha Grokhotov. Aces had previously had a 7-3 win over Beaufort Sports 'A', with Lynn again in fine form. Beaufort clocked up their first win of the campaign against Broadway, winning 7-3 as Andy Jackson chalked up a maximum.
Ashley Savell-Boss had 12-10 in the fifth victories over both Dave Ameghino and Silvanus Ward, to enable Sandwell Unison to draw 5-5 with West Midlands Police 'A', in Division One. Savell-Boss kept his unbeaten record in the 7-3 win at Kingshurst Bribar 'D', with the consistent Brian Morris also winning three. Ameghino inflicted the first defeat of the season on Nabil Khalfey, as Police had another 5-5 with Sutton 'B'. Tim Freeman was the star for Quinborne in their clash with Kingshurst Bribar 'D' and received solid support from Dan Ranford and Glen Whitlock in a 7-3 success. Quinborne lost 6-4 at Jacombs 'A' in their next fixture, despite a magnificent treble from Dan Ranford. Sutton 'A' just edged Bournville 'A' 6-4, as pen holder Andy Choi hit top form with three singles wins.
George Webb's treble enabled Sutton 'C' to beat Colebridge Hawks in Division Two. Sutton Coldfield 'E' had a 7-3 success over Streetly 'B', as Mike Cooper produced an excellent maximum. Promoted Beaufort Sports 'B' are finding the step up in standard no problem. A Carl Mountjoy treble was included in their 7-3 win over Sutton Coldfield 'D'.
Chris Hall, Roy Packwood and Alan White of Walmley 'A', inflicted a 10-0 whitewash on Kingshurst Bribar 'E' in Division Three. Bournville 'C' came away from Walmley 'B' with a 7-3 victory, four sets went the distance in this encounter, with Harry Ford including an 18-16 game in his defeat of Bob Mason.
Sutton 'F' beat Walmley 'C' 7-3, despite Farhan Petkar losing out to Tim Stevens. Steve Bailey picked up three singles for Sutton, in this Division Four clash.
Colebridge Jaguars are the early leaders in Division Five, courtesy of 10-0 and 9-1 victories over Colebridge Indians and Kingshurst Bribar 'G' respectively. Len Sutton and Roy Holloway were unbeaten in both matches. Ron Fraser picked up his usual three wins for West Midlands Police 'B' against both Kingshurst Bribar 'H' and Jacombs 'C'. The Kings youngsters, however, grabbed an impressive 7-3 win, although the Police hammered Jacombs 8-2. Newcomers, Team SCC, fought hard for a 6-4 win at Ivy Leaf 'B', despite an excellent treble from Derek Palser for the home side.
