Carl Morgan, at his peak, was arguably the only local player who could give the legendary Desmond Douglas a challenge.  The former Jamaican No 1, who appeared in World Championships, is back playing in the Premier Division for Broadway.  Association chairman Dean Hicks was on the receiving end, as Morgan's side beat Hall Green 'B' 7-3.  "It was a privilege to play such an outstanding player," enthused Hicks.  "Carl is pure quality and still right up there with the best."  Morgan is the best of a plethora of former leading players who have returned to the league this season.  Lyndon Douglas has joined Hall Green 'B', Andrew Dixon is with Streetly ‘A’, while ace Leamington veteran Phil Paine, is assisting Colebridge Aces.  Neil Wheatley gained a maximum as the Aces thrashed Kingshurst Bribar 'B' 8-2. Highlight in this fixture, was the 11-5 in the fifth win for Tony Carter of Kings against Edward Lynn. Curdworth march on with an emphatic 8-2 success at Streetly 'A', with another maximum for the seemingly unstoppable Ian Ferguson.

Martin Round and Nabil Khalfey won three each for Division One title favourites Sutton Coldfield 'B', in their 8-2 win at Jacombs 'A'.  Colebridge Eagles beat Jacombs 7-3, with Mark Hadley's 11-9 in the fifth win over Dave Linz, the crucial clash. Eagles had another 7-3 against Sandwell Unison, which saw Mahroof Hussain produce his best form for a treble.  Dan Ranford of Quinborne was a hat-trick man against Colebridge Giants, in a 6-4 victory for his team.

Hall Green 'D' edged their 'C' team 6-4, thanks to a fine team effort, with Chris Allen's thrilling victory by 13-11 in the fifth over Ian Scott, proving decisive. Rob Sheldon of Beaufort is taking Division Two in his stride, being unbeaten in a 7-3 triumph over Streetly 'B', as his side won 7-3.  Sutton 'E' had a surprisingly easy 9-1 victory over Colebridge Falcons, Pete Worship and Andy Nicholl both unbeaten here. George Webb led Sutton 'C' to a 6-4 score against their 'D' team.

Dave Lyne was unbeaten, as West Midland Phones recorded a 7-3 at Ivy Leaf 'A' in Division Three.  Bournville 'B' slammed Walmley 'A' 8-2, with trebles from Pete Haslam and Darren Williams.

David Gregg ensured a 6-4 for Streetly 'D' at Beaufort Sports 'D', with a four game victory over Frank Cheshire in the last match of the night.  Streetly 'C' youngsters Jordan Colen, Shane Gales and Oliver Jupp, outclassed Lodge Road in a 9-1 drubbing, while Sutton Coldfield 'G' drew 5-5 against Jacombs 'B'.  Farhan Petkar showed once again he is a class above Division Four standard, with an emphatic treble for Sutton 'F' over Kingshurst Bribar 'F'.

Colebridge Indians gained their first win of the campaign, beating Baverstock 'C' 6-4. James Hudson and Alan Buttle both picked up two singles for Indians.  Ron Fraser gained his usual maximum for West Midlands Police 'B', in their 7-3 victory at Team SCC.
