Ray Dixon and Neil Wheatley kept their unbeaten records in the Premier Division of the Birmingham League, as Colebridge Aces thumped West Midland Phones 'A' 8-2.  Kingshurst Bribar 'B' won 7-3 at Land Rover "A', with Paul Taylor winning all his sets in straight games.  Bournville "A' are the surprise package in this section and they swept to another victory, with an 8-2 demolition job on Beaufort Sports 'A', Les Minott and Bhavesh Amlani unbeaten.

 

Dave Linz notched a fine treble for Jacombs 'A' in Division One, who gained their first win of the season by a 6-4 margin against visitors Colebridge Giants.  Leaders Hall Green 'B' had a 9-1 success over Colebridge Eagles, for whom Mark Hadley was unlucky, beating John Ludford and having match points in his other sets.  Nabil Khalfey had a fine 12-10 in the fifth win over Roger Morris, in his maximum for Sutton 'B' against Kingshurst Bribar "D', but Kings came away with a 6-4 victory.

 

Scott Danter and Matt Allen were unstoppable for Colebridge Hawks at Land Rover 'D' in Division Two, in an 8-2 triumph.  Dan Ranford of Quinborne "A' beat Sutton 'D's Martin Round, in the battle of the only two unbeaten players in the division, which helped his side to a 7-3 win.

 

Land Rover 'E' had a narrow 6-4 success over Hall Green 'D', thanks to a maximum from John Dineen, while Hall Green 'C' also went down 8-2 to Sutton 'E, Derek Ellis and Alan Baker had maximums.  Tony Sheldon, Roger Hookes and Pete Haslam of Bournville ‘B' inflicted a 9-1 drubbing on Walmley 'B'.

 

Andrew Nicol was unbeaten for Sutton 'F', in their 6-4 victory at Colebridge Indians, in Division Four.  Walmley 'C' enjoyed 8-2 and 6-4 wins over Baverstock 'A' and Sutton 'F' respectively, with Bob Mason, Bob Hawthorne and Tony Williams all playing their part.  Jacombs 'B' were another side to enjoy two successes.  Robert Spiers and Howard Lewis won three each in the 7-3 win at Kingshurst Bribar 'E', while a 6-4 score-line was gained at home to Quinborne 'B'.  Promotion favourites Beaufort Social 'C' beat Streetly 'C' 7-3, as Ash Kapadia continued his fine season with another treble.

 

Ron Fraser of West Midlands Police suffered a rare loss in Division Five, to Tony Badham of Streetly 'D, with the match ending 5-5.  Streetly got back to winning ways, with an 8-2 win over Baverstock 'B'.  Tim Bellamy and Alan Winspur swept the 'youngsters' from Land Rover 'F' to an 8-2 win at Sutton 'G', who had previously had a 6-4 success at Kingshurst Youth, thanks to a maximum from Janet Matthews.  Alton Burnett and Mark Cohen won three each for Lodge Road in the 7-3 victory over Beaufort Sports 'D'.
