Kingshurst Bribar 'A' continued their relentless march in pursuit of retaining the Birmingham League Premier Division title, with a ruthless 9-1 despatching of Streetly 'A', as Mike Browne, Scott Prime and Jack Williamson warmed up in style for this Sunday's Warwickshire Closed Championship. Karl Manning was unbeaten, as Kingshurst Bribar 'B' brought to an end a fine run from promoted Bournville 'A, with a 6-4 success. Colebridge Aces crushed Land Rover 'A' 10-0, although Dave Ameghino took both Mick Kendall and Pete Roddy to the wire.
The youngsters of Sutton 'B' are on the march in Division One, as they recorded a shock 7-3 win at Sandwell Unison and a 5-5 home draw with runaway leaders Hall Green 'B'. Nabil Khalfey was unbeaten in both matches and is now just one behind individual leader Dean Hicks of Hall Green 'B'. Colebridge Eagles had a comfortable 7-3 win over Jacombs 'A', which saw Mark Hadley back on song with a maximum.
Scott Danter and Matt Allen inflicted the first defeats of the campaign on Dan Ranford of Quinborne 'A' in Division Two, to help Colebridge Hawks to a 7-3 victory. Smithereens hit form to record a 9-1 over Streetly 'B', with Simon Bailey and Steve Smith unbeaten. They had previously drawn 5-5 at Sutton 'C', with Bailey gaining another treble and Catherine Smith making her debut. The classy defensive skills of John Cox were well to the fore for Colebridge Falcons, in their 7-3 home success over Walmley 'A'.
John Dineen had three wins for Land Rover 'E' at Beaufort Sports 'B' in Division Three, but the home side produced a fine team effort to triumph 6-4. Steve Atkinson is getting back to form following his long lay off for Bournville 'C', gaining two singles wins in the 6-4 defeat of West Midlands Phones 'B'.
Hall Green 'E' returned to winning ways in Division Four, Inky Moss and Pete Vigus winning two each in a 6-4 score-line. Ron Kite was in blistering attacking form, to lead Beaufort Sports 'C' to a comprehensive 8-2 victory over Kingshurst Bribar 'E'. Bob Hawthorne clinched a maximum with an 11-9 in the fifth success over Stuart Oakes, to lead Walmley 'C' to a 6-4 win at Streetly 'C'. Sutton 'F' beat Jacombs ''B' 7-3, as Andrew Nichol remained in top form.
Ron Harze, Frank Cheshire and Dave Ludlow were unstoppable for Beaufort Sports 'D', in their 9-1 mauling of Sutton 'G' in Division Five. Alton Burnett and Mark Cohen were unbeaten as Lodge Road stayed on the promotion trail in a 6-4 triumph at Streetly 'D', while Jacombs 'C' had a 7-3 home win over Kingshurst Bribar 'F'.
