Lindon Douglas is proving to be a superb signing for Hall Green 'B' in the Premier Division. The lightning quick attacking player notched up another hat-trick against Kingshurst Bribar 'C', in a 7-3 success. Streetly 'A' finished fifth in 2006/7, but a 10-0 drubbing by reigning champions Kingshurst Bribar 'A', has left them at the wrong end of the table.
George Hutton and Brian Morris both won three singles each, for Sandwell Unison
at Division One title favourites Sutton 'B'. 78 year old Hutton beat Birmingham
junior champion Nabil Khalfey - 61 years his junior - 12-10 in the fifth. Roger
Morris is another 'golden oldie' in quite brilliant form, as he celebrated his
inclusion in the Warwickshire O60 squad, with an easy treble at Colebridge
Giants, the match ending 5-5. Sutton Coldfield 'A' march on, with pen holder
Andy Choi gaining a maximum, as his side clipped the wings of Colebridge Eagles,
to the tune of 8-2. Quinborne also registered an 8-2 success over Bournville
'A', which saw Tim Freeman and Dan Ranford unbeaten.
Smithereens are looking good for promotion from Division Two, following an
emphatic 9-1 win over Streetly 'B'. The unorthodox skills of Steve Smith and
Brian Pynor, were all too much for their opponents. Hall Green 'C' had a shock
7-3 victory over high fliers Beaufort Sports 'B', Ian Scott and Steve Pinder
surprise hat-trick men in this fixture. Sutton 'E' enjoyed a hard fought 6-4
triumph against their 'D' team.
John Hunt had a magnificent maximum for Colebridge Falcons, in their 6-4 home
win over Sutton 'C'.
The Baverstock 'A' trio of Luke Baker, Scott Danter and Ian Anson, look
unstoppable in Division Three, with their latest success a 9-1 hammering of
Bournville 'C'. Hall Green 'E' had mixed fortunes, with a convincing 8-2 win
over Walmley 'B', followed by a 7-3 reverse to Bournville 'B'. Yaj Ghosh and
Kash Akhtar were maximum men for Green against Walmley, but the Bournville duo
of Tony Sheldon and Darren Williams were unstoppable. Paul Thomas led Ivy Leaf
'A' to an 8-2 success over Walmley 'B'. Zac Dixon was outstanding for West
Midland Phones at Walmley 'A', as his side gained an 8-2 win.
Fadi Ezaddin of Colebridge Jaguars, lost his first set of the season, to the
experienced Ron Fraser of West Midlands Police 'B'. Fraser gained his usual
maximum, but division leaders Jaguars, picked up the other seven sets, to stay
in top spot. Police and Ivy Leaf 'B' drew 5-5, with Fraser untroubled in
securing his three singles. Newcomers Team SCC are finding the going tough and
they lost again to Baverstock 'C', for whom Jim Ferguson was unbeaten.
