Steve Taylor and Terry Cooper were both unbeaten, as Streetly 'A' cruised home 9-1 against Land Rover 'A' in the Premier Division.  Rover had previously been beaten by the same score at Colebridge Braves.  Sarah Riach's 12-10 in the fifth win over Colin Would, enabled Kingshurst Bribar 'C' to beat West Midlands Phones 'A' 6-4.  Kingshurst Bribar 'B' inflicted the first defeat of the season on Colebridge Aces by a 7-3 margin, with Karl Manning of Kings ending Ray Dixon's unbeaten record.

 

Colebridge Eagles were 4-0 down to Colebridge Giants in Division One, before recovering to draw 5-5, as Mahroof Hussain picked up two singles.  Roger Morris enabled Kingshurst Bribar 'D' to draw 5-5 with Sandwell Unison with a maximum.  Sandwell suffered a blow to their promotion hopes in their next match, going down 8-2 to visitors Sutton Coldfield 'A', for whom penholder Andy Choi gained an impressive treble.  Bob Allcock of Land Rover 'B' put the Sutton 'B' youngsters in their place, with some fine defensive play in an 8-2 success.

 

Martin Round of Sutton 'D' stays top of the individuals in Division Two, winning three in a 7-3 victory over Walmley 'A', although Alan White took him to 11-8 in the fifth.  Round was beaten, however, by David Bissell of Streetly 'B' in a 5-5 draw.  Streetly then stunned high fliers Colebridge Hawks 6-4, as Bissell again proved himself a class above the opposition and Graham Fleet ensured the win with an 11-4 final game success over Matt Allen.  Land Rover 'C' thrashed Colebridge Falcons 8-2 and shared the spoils 5-5 with Quinborne 'A'.  Simon Bailey was back to form for Smithereens, in their 6-4 defeat of Colebridge Falcons.  Land Rover 'D' edged Sutton 'C' 6-4.

 

Alan Thompson of Beaufort Sports 'B' was the difference between the sides, in the clash with Hall Green 'C' in Division Three, winning three in a 6-4  score-line.  West Midlands Phones 'B' won by the same margin over Sutton 'E', as George Webb of Sutton suffered a rare defeat to Colin Would.  Harry Ford was outstanding, as Bournville 'C' beat their 'B' side 7-3.

 

Streetly 'C' and Jacombs 'B' shared the honours 5-5 in Division Four, with Howard Lewis of Jacombs the only unbeaten player.

 

A fine team effort from Sutton 'G' produced a 6-4 win at West Midlands Police in Division Five, as Ron O'Malley, Janet Matthews and Belle Halliwell all picked up two singles.  Beaufort Sports 'D' won 7-3 at Jacombs 'C', with Ron Harze and Frank Cheshire recorded maximums and Lodge Road beat Baverstock 'B' by the same margin.
