Nabil Khalfey is already reaping the rewards of being chosen by the Mark Read Foundation, to receive sponsorship and other benefits.
The 16 year old, who represents the Sutton Coldfield club, has enrolled with Sutton College, in their newly formed table tennis academy, where he will be coached by the legendary Desmond Douglas.
He has also been fast tracked into the Birmingham senior men's squad, who are bidding to regain the Midland League title for the first time in 10 years.
Khalfey showed once again his vast potential, with a stunning victory over current Birmingham and Warwickshire champion Scott Prime, in Sutton's final Summer League match.

The Sutton player will be taking in several tournaments throughout the country, in his last year as a junior and looks set to rocket up the ranking list in his current form.

The Birmingham League will have 59 teams in their 2007/8 competition, one more than last year, which has delighted officials.
"Most sports in the city are shedding teams every year, but we have stabilised over the past few seasons and indeed look set to expand," enthused chairman Dean Hicks.
"Getting youngsters into the sport has to be our main aim, with several projects already started and more in the pipeline, the future is looking good," added Hicks.
