The Birmingham League 2007/8 season commences next Monday, with just one vacancy, which has delighted officials.  Kinghurst Bribar and Curdworth will contest the Premier Division title there is no doubt about that, but further down the divisions, the outcome is less easy to predict.

Bournville will start favourites for the Division One title, with Bhavesh Amlani and Les Minott on board, with explosive penholder Mark Hadley, supported by Mahroof Hussain and the returning Alan Hall, set to challenge with Colebridge Eagles.  Joint individual winners in 2006/7, Roger Morris (Kingshurst Bribar) and Nabil Khalfey (Sutton), are still playing in the section and will be the individuals to beat once again.

The inconsistent Smithereens trio of Steve Smith, Simon Bailey and Norman Harvey, have been tipped for the Division Two crown in the past two campaigns, only to stutter, but if Bailey plays a full season, they are certain to be near the summit.  Classy defender Steve Pinder, Dean Harvey and Ian Scott, will take some stopping in the Hall Green 'C' line-up.  The aggressive Bernard Oliver has left Hall Green to lead Colebridge Hawks, along with Ann Lloyd and Micky Walsh.

Luke Hemming and Don Cornock team up together in a strong Kingshurst Bribar side in Division Three, with Walmley, who include Alan White in their line-up, set to challenge.

Farhan Petkar (Sutton Coldfield) helps make his side favourite for promotion from Division Four, with Tim Fell and Roy Holloway looking likely to give Colebridge silverware in Division Five.
