Scott Prime, Birmingham's No.1 player, is looking forward to the new season – despite having suffered several defeats in the 2007 Summer League campaign.
"After winning the Birmingham and Warwickshire titles, being top individual in the Birmingham League, my team Kingshurst retaining the title and being voted Player of the Season, I should have had a break," insisted Prime.
"I do not wish to take anything away from the players who beat me in the summer, a win is a win after all, but I found it difficult to motivate myself after all my success.
"Now I feel refreshed and I am excited about the season ahead."

Prime will team up with Steve Bertie and Michael Browne for Kingshurst Bribar in the British League, with the club still to announce who will be the fourth regular member of the squad.

He is also delighted with the strength of the Birmingham squad for their attempt on the Midland League title.
"Fergie (Ian Ferguson) and Sasha (Groghotov) are great additions to the squad, we will have a real attempt to regain the title," added Prime.

Kingshurst will face a stern challenge from former top dogs Curdworth in the Premier Division of the Birmingham League but Prime is confident they will achieve their third title in succession.
"We will start favourites with our squad, but will not take Curdworth lightly," he said.
